It's always better to go local! The most important factors to consider when you are choosing your local company are whether they are certified, and what materials they use. The auto glass industry is NOT regulated, so look for shops that regulate themselves and hold themselves accountable to industry wide standards. In addition, always ask for OEM auto glass and parts, and what kind of adhesive they are using.
